Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Isaiah 35:4
Today I visited with a 91 year old WWII veteran who discussed his landing in France (circa 1941) and transport to Germany via railway and how they stayed low and fought when commanded. He was brave with a dominant frame, imposing and certain even in the confines of a wheelchair. He was drafted he said without a flinch of regret. So I asked him, “Were you ever afraid,” but he didn’t understand the question so I rephrased it, “Were you scared?” And in is nestled assurance he shook his head no. “No,” he said. “We stayed in the foxhole and every time I found myself in the foxhole, I prayed, God keep me safe, and then I went out and fought and each night found the foxhole again.”
In the midst of the revolution and in the heart of what may frighten you where there are silent cares and unspoken woes, let us find our faith in the foxhole and stand firm with blessed assurance that protection is ours.
Joy to all – Dianne
